What Desksurf keeps about you, and why
This page says which details about people Desksurf holds, where they came from, what they are used for, and how to object or have them deleted. Last changed on 12 October 2026.
Who we are
Desksurf is run by Makestry Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, number 10022959. Registered office: Flat 1 12 Guilford Street, London, WC1N 1DT.
Makestry Ltd decides what is kept and what it is used for, and answers for it. The law calls that the controller.

If we wrote to you first
You can object at any time. Reply "no" to the message, or write to hello@dsksrf.com, and we stop writing to you.
- Where your address came from
- A public page of your organisation's own website. Where the address names a person, we record that page and the day we read it, and you can ask us which page it was.
- What we hold
- Your organisation's name and website. The work address we wrote to. Your first name, if that page gave it. One sentence about your organisation's work, read on its site. The messages we sent, and your reply if there was one.
- Why
- To offer Desksurf to organisations it may fit, and to avoid writing to the same organisation twice. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in offering the service to organisations like yours.
- Who handles it
- It is not sold, and nobody is given it for their own use. It is handled for us by a sending service that delivers the messages, a mail service, a service where we record which organisations we have written to, the company that hosts this site, and the provider of the software we work with.
- How long
- No fixed date ends it. It is kept until you ask us to delete it.
- After a no
- We keep your address, your organisation's name and the fact that you said no, so that no business run by Makestry Ltd writes to that address again.
If you described a desk
- What we keep
- The answers you gave on the form "What a desk for a day goes for in your city, and your listing" and the listing made from them. What you typed there: what you ask for a desk for a day, the name of the business and its neighbourhood or postcode district. Every other answer is one you chose from a list. We also keep the time of each step: the form sent, an answer added, the listing downloaded, the button on its page pressed, its link switched off.
- Why
- To make the listing, to show it to you again at its private link, and to see how the form is used.
- What is published
- Nothing, from the form. A listing goes on this site only after the business asks for it in a message from its own domain. It then shows the name of the business, its area and what you answered about the desk.
- Who handles it
- The listing opens for anyone who has its private link. It is not sold, and nobody is given it for their own use unless the business asks for the listing to be published. It is handled for us by the company that hosts this site, a database service that holds the records, and the provider of the software we work with.
- How long
- The private link opens for 30 days from the day you sent the form. You can switch it off sooner, on the listing's own page. The record stays after the link stops opening. No fixed date ends it. It is kept until you ask us to delete it. To ask, write to hello@dsksrf.com with the reference from the receipt on that page, or with what you answered and the day, so that we can find it.
If you asked for notes by email
- What we keep
- Your email address and the day you confirmed it.
- Before you confirm
- The address waits 48 hours for you to open the link we sent. If you do not, it is deleted. For two days we also keep a mark made from the address, which does not show it, so that the same address is not sent a second link the same day.
- Why
- To send the notes you asked for. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you opened the link.
- Who handles it
- It is not sold, and nobody is given it for their own use. The list is held by the company that hosts this site, and messages to you go through a mail service.
- How long
- Until you leave. Every note has a link to stop, and using it deletes your address from the list.
If you wrote to us
A message to hello@dsksrf.com is kept so that we can answer it and work on what you wrote about. We hold your address, what you wrote and what we answered.

Visiting this site
This site sets no cookies and runs no script in your browser.
The company that hosts it counts the requests it serves: the day and hour, the page asked for, the country, the kind of device, the operating system and the browser family. We read those counts to see whether a page is being found. They do not say who you are.
Like any web server, the host receives the internet address each request comes from. We do not read it and we do not keep it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or limit what we do with it. You can object to our using it at all.
Write to hello@dsksrf.com and say which.
If you think we have handled your details wrongly, you can complain to us at that address, and to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom's regulator for data protection (ico.org.uk). If you live in the European Union, you can complain to the data protection authority of your own country.
